Igor Golovach’s dancing career began in his early childhood at the age of 5 when his father, a former Folk dancer, decided to take him to a dance studio in their hometown of Chernivtsi, Ukraine.

Throughout his entire childhood, Igor dedicated himself to dance. Traveling throughout Europe to Germany, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and the Czech Republic, Igor represented Ukraine in the international dancing arena. His commitment to the sport led him to become a multiple-time champion of Open DanceSport Championships and Festivals held throughout Ukraine. He also became a multiple-time finalist in various WDSF competitions throughout Europe.

Aside from training and competing for his own athletic career, Igor began getting involved with the careers of the younger generations. He began instructing Juvenile, Junior, and Youth dancers at Andrey Piskarev’s Karnaval Dance Studio in his hometown where he led group classes of technique, musicality, and performance skills to prepare students better for competition. The dancers he instructed went on to win and place in the finals of some of the top Championships in Ukraine.

At the age of twenty-one, Igor received an O1 visa (visa for extraordinary talent) and traveled to the United States to further excel in his career as an athlete as well as an instructor. While training in a studio, Igor met Michelle-Angela Blank, with whom he would continue his competitive career representing the USA. Together, they also founded WikiDanceSport.com, a free-access, free-content Internet encyclopedia of Ballroom Dancing.

Igor is certified as a Professional Instructor under the North American Dance Teachers Association (NADTA) in the International Style Latin division. He instructs all levels and age groups of competitive dancers from juveniles to seniors at locations including Spotlight Dance Center and Medford Fitness under DSS.

Oleksandra was born in Lviv, Ukraine in a family of dancers. Since her grandmother is a professional ballet master and choreographer all kids in this family were supposed to dance. The first time Oleksandra stepped on the stage at three and a half years old as a part of the “Prominchik” kids dancing school. After Oleksandra’s family moved to Uzhgorod she became a part of exemplary children’s dance company “Dzhereltsya Karpat.” At the age of eleven Oleksandra moved again to the United States. After a short break she returned back to dancing. Hard work and diligent practice made her realize that ballroom dancing is the love of her life. IN 2015 Oleksandra became the World Pro/Am Dancesport Series. From the very first class Oleksandra knew that she wanted to be a dance teacher. With over 5 years of experience behind her, teaching kids of various ages as well as adults, she knows that seeing her students learning and improving is the best reward.

Michelle was said to dance before she could walk. At the age of 9, she began attending hip-hop dance classes and a year later, preceded towards jazz and ballet training as well and continued this path until moving onto Ballroom Dancing. At the age of 14, Michelle took her first lesson in the American Style at a nearby Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

After falling in love with this new specialty, Michelle began training in the International Latin division and soon afterwards began her competitive path as a Youth athlete.

Michelle began progressing very quickly. In 2013, she became the Champion of the Youth Latin Pre-Championship at the City DanceSport Challenge. It was her first competition with a partner and deemed itself a rewarding experience.

After only a couple of years, Michelle had come from the very basics of syllabus dancing to competing in Amateur Championships. In 2015, she met Igor Golovach, a young dancer who had just arrived from Ukraine to dance in the USA. Together, they would continue their competitive paths.

After just one year together, they became the 2016 Virginia State International Latin Champions as well as the Liberty Ball Amateur International Latin Champions. They have also placed in the semi-final of the 2017 USA Dance National DanceSport Championships.

In May of 2017, the couple became the New England DanceSport Amateur Latin Champions, winning a regional qualifier for the 2018 USA Dance National DanceSport Championships.
